Saving forms not working?

Postby donebythefish » Wed Apr 27, 2011 8:47 am

I've been going through My Submissions in an effort to "tweak" things - correcting wrong form fields, removing ones I'm not interested in, etc. I notice that the Bellaonline ones ( http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art6694.asp and http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art38100.asp and http://www.bellaonline.com/articles/art2057.asp ) have a radio-button for gender... after choosing one, I "Save Form" but when I go back to that page the radio-buttons are un-checked again.

Also happening with Wizard Of Oz ( http://www.rpmcsweeps.com/wizardofoz ) - gender buttons won't stay saved.

On Gibson Guitar ( http://www2.gibson.com/News-Lifestyle/Contests/2011/Win-Billy-Morrison-Signature-Les-Paul.aspx ) sometimes the form comes up blank even after saving... and at all times the "Opt-In for emails keeps re-checking itself (can't leave it blank).

Not a bug but Toolseeker: http://toolseeker2.com/contest.asp gives a 404 (page not found) - problem is on their end (contest link broked)

Not a bug, but Elle ( http://www.elle.com/Sweepstakes/Fashion-Week-s-Best-Accessory-Sweepstakes ) displays a splash page for 10 seconds before redirecting to sweeps form page - so folks may have to play with the time between page entries in advanced settings (15000=15 Seconds)

Not a bug, but the Omaha Steaks page WILL make you hungry

Lumber Liquidators ( http://www.elle.com/Sweepstakes/Fashion-Week-s-Best-Accessory-Sweepstakes ) - opt-in checkboxes won't save (I actually wanted to opt-in on this one!)

Art.com sweeps ( http://www.elledecor.com/home-sweepstakes/art-com-200-sweepstakes ) - gender buttons keep reverting back to female.

EasyHomeMeals ( http://www.easyhomemeals.com/sweepform.html ) - the "tell a friend" field keeps entering my email address - can't leave it blank.

Nikos ( http://www.nikosfeta.com/ ) - gender button remains un-checked, but marital status buttons seems to save OK. Houshold Income field keeps reverting back to it's default and won't save my entry.

TaylorMorrison Homes ( http://dreamhome.taylormorrison.com/enter-to-win.aspx ) - "I certify I'm 21 yrs of age checkbox won't stay checked. Fields for when I plan to purchase and where keep resetting to default - won't save my entries (one choice is "Just Enterin Contest" and won't save that).

O-Cedar ( http://cleaningpro.ocedar.com/sweepstakes ) - gender buttons not saving.

Readers Digest ( https://legacy.rd.com/sweeps/rd/winbig/index2.jsp?sep_id=46256&trkid=rd_quicky_np ) - Street address and Apt Number fields fill-in wrong and won't save - street shows as my apt # and my apt # shows my street address.

Turks and Caicos ( http://www.elledecor.com/home-sweepstakes/gansevoort-turks-caicos-getaway-sweepstakes ) - opt-in for 3rd party offers won't stay un-checked. Also gender keeps reverting to female.

2000 Flushes ( http://www.2000flushesbrand.com/dream-bathroom-sweepstakes/ ) - it accepts street address but if I add my apt number (same field) it only remember my street. The checkbox to agree to Rules won't remain checked.

Dolly Parton ( http://www.cmt.com/community/sweepstakes/2011/visit-sevierville/ ) - DAY of birth field keeps coming up empty, month and year work OK. State selection won't remember my state choice.

OK, THAT should keep you busy for a bit! I'll post more later as I go through the list further. :D

I agree. Noticing the same thing! And a lot of the manual entry things don't auto fill. Those I copy the url, bookmark it, delete it from Your Submissions and use Roboform for Firefox to fill them. That way I'm saving time and effort.

Hmmm...

Hi guys, ok thanks...

I will look into that... I am actually just putting together a few new updates for the software, but those will be added on the to-do list...

We don't say the "R" word around here! :) (I'm just kidding! :)) But seriously -- the goal is to have the software be able to do all of that so you shouldn't need software like Roboform, etc... Those sweepstakes have been added to the 'to-do' list.

Thanks!

I added a bunch to my opening post - here's the rest I found (from my list, anyways)...

Sundrop Real World ( http://www.mtv.com/asm/sun_drop/ ) - STATE selection won't save.

Travel + Liesure ( https://subs.timeinc.net/LE/le_25kvacasweeps.jhtml ) - ALL fields won't save, keep coming up all empty even after analyzing and saving form - if I goto Edit, the page reloads and fields are empty again. It would be nice to have that analyze form option in the edit pane...maybe?

Something I just noticed is that on all these pages with "issues", ninja shows as them being successfully sent - however on the Dolly Parton page (earlier post) the problem caused a redirect to an error message (STATE field hadn't been chosen) so it really wasn't a successful submission.

Eddie Trunk ( http://www.eddietrunk.com/index.cfm/pk/content/pid/402104 ) - the "where did you hear about contest (rfequired field) won't save my selection. Also, this was marked as a Manual Submission but it (and a few others) show as being successfully Sent after I do the Fast Submission Button.

Hawaiin Tropic ( http://www.hawaiiantropic.com/Promotions/Sweepstakes/Entry.aspx ) - boxes for having read both rules and privacy policy won't stayed checked.

Biscoff Gourmet ( http://www.biscoff.com/DirectionsWEB/webcart_sweepsEntry.php ) - Zip Code has 2 fields - 2nd field keeps filling in my "main" zip code (same as 1st field) - can't keep it blank. Checkbox to subscribe to email list keeps checking back "on".

Pfaltzgraf ( http://www.pfaltzgraff.com/Sweepstakes/200th-anniversary-sweepstakes,default,pg.html ) - gender buttons won't stay on.

Kim Kommando ( https://win.komando.com/enter.asp ) - checkbox to accept terms won't stay checked. This also shows as being succesfully entered as of this morning even though since that Accept checkbox, since not being checked then, sent me to a page scolding me to accept her terms so the entry was not really submitted.

Well Dressed ( http://welldressedfood.com/1820/april-2011-giveaway-breakfast-at-camp-gift-tote ) - Seriously, Johnathan, you've seen me on my video - do I look well-dressed to you?

CMT's Next Superstar ( http://www.cmt.com/community/sweepstakes/2011/cmt-next-superstar/ ) - STATE selection box won't remember my choice. This was already a manual submission but is marked as being successfully sent this morning after I did the Fast Submission button thing (I haven't done any manual entries yet today except for now as I'm going through my entire list).

Sundrop Real World ( http://www.mtv.com/asm/sun_drop/ ) - for some reason this is in My Submissions twice... same URL (as above) - I've removed the duplicate listing from My Submissions. I thought that couldn't happen since the DB checks the URL's?

Overton's ( https://www.overtons.com/modperl/sweepstakes.cgi ) - gender buttons won't remain on. Field for "do I own a personal watercraft?" keeps reverting to "Yes" and email opt-in keeps checking back "on".

GoPro ( http://gopro.com/daily-giveaway/ ) - this was added by me and set to manual submission because ninja would not remember ANY of the fields. If I use fill form button, fields get filled. Same with analyze form. But if I then go to edt (after saving) the fields come up empty again. Also, even though this was set to manual it shows as being successfully sent this morning after my fast submissions button was pressed.

Not sure if this is really a bug, but Motosport Ultimate Riding Package contest appears twice in my list - but both have different URL's for the same contest, (one is http://www.motosport.com/win/ and other is http://www.motosport.com/dirtbike/win/ ) - one is set to manual entry, the other to fast submission. I may be partially at fault and found that contest at the different URL and added it without realizing there was already one there.

Golfbuddy Getaway ( http://www.gpsgolfbuddy.com/sweepstakes/request.asp ) - the Agree to rules checkbox won't stay checked.

OK, that's it (for today! :D ) - let me know if there's anything I can do to help you out!

Hi Fish...

Ok -- are these submissions you are adding yourself? (I was thinking it was from the big sweepstakes database).

I may need to change the terminology -- right now (in the 'your' submissions) -- when it says "successfully sent" -- it is assuming everything has been entered correctly. So if you enable fast submissions -- it is saying it has done it according the submission criteria that was saved... As for some of the other ones (i.e., elledecor), those are already entered through the 'ninja' submissions, so you should need to 're-enter' them...

Thanks,

Johnathan

Ok -- thought I'd post an update... now I know what you are talking about... currently working on a solution to that (as well as actually being able to automatically fill in the gender).

Thanks!

MOST are the sweeps that came with the Ninja software by default - there are a few that I added myself (Like GoPro) but a bug is a bug, right?

Thanks -- yep.

Figured out what some of them were, so that is now being fixed.

The 'gender' stuff should now be able to be auto-detected in the future if it is a radio button (so you don't need to 'manually' set it).
Currently looking at the other sweepstakes you mentioned/listed.

Thanks!
